They we will move to the Robotics First Assembly Point where you can see car body, engine and gear box construction. These constructions are also used for VW and Seat car models too. They we will move to the Final Assembly Area where the seats, electrics and dashboards were fitted. The Skoda factory produces on average 450 finished units a day and they only produce Skoda’s 2 most popular models, the Fabia and Octavia.
On the way from the Skoda factory to Prague we can take you to other places of your interest be it the UNESCO town of Kutna Hora and its Bone Church or the Terezin Concentration Camp.
Kutna Hora is a medieval silver-mining city located one hour?s drive to the the east of Prague. During the Middle Ages, profits from the Kutná Hora silver mines brought fame to the lands of the Czech Crown, and Kutná Hora became the 2nd richest town in the Czech lands after Prague. The legacy of this glorious epoch can be seen in the fine Gothic and Italianate buildings that line the cobblestone streets.
During this Prague – Terezin Concentration Camp tour you will learn about World War II and its impacts on former Czechoslovakia. Terezin is the name of a former military fortress and garrison town. In the late 18th century the Habsburg Monarchy erected the fortress and named it after Empress Maria Theresa as a stronghold against the Prussians from the North. In 1941 the town of Terezin was changed by the Nazis into a Jewish ghetto-transit camp. Until the end of the War more than 150000 deportees passed through the camp, 35.000 of which died there.
